In 2007, plans for almost 100 holiday homes at the Holiday Village received a final blow after an Bord Pleanala outright refused permission for the development. The refusal came despite the fact that the boards own inspector said that permission should be granted with certain recommendations. Opened again for airsoft, but lasted only.a year (2013-2014). In August 2014, believed to be arson fire cased some damage, and major fire in 2015 destroyed all top floor and most of the building.
